Music is an integral part of our lives. We need it to cope, to thrive and to simply get by. It can bring out emotions we didn’t know we could feel. It helps us relate to people we will never meet and it brings us closer to those we love. There are few things as universal as the love of music. Of course, we all vary drastically when it comes to the type of music we choose to listen to and that we love. Some like slow classics whereas others are always looking for the new and undiscovered. There are concertgoers, record collectors and musicians themselves. As much as we are different when it comes to music, we are all the same in the sense that there is a particular type of music out there that makes us feel something.

It wouldn’t surprise me if you are listening to music right now. Or maybe, you’ve just got a song in your head that’s been there all day? One of the best things about music is that we can listen to it alone or with others. It’s not a strictly solo or collective act. We can choose how, where and when we want to listen to it. The same goes for singing along. Some of us are shower singers, some sing along in the car and then, of course, there are those who never truly sing out loud, only in their heads.

It’s a truly emotional experience when a favorite song or a song that’s just perfect for your current situation comes on and you get to belt out the lyrics along with the original artist. You are transported from your current location and state of mind. You just feel connected to the music, singing along without a care in the world. There’s a small chance you haven’t experienced this before. If you haven’t, there’s no better time than now to put on a song that had always made you feel something, close the world out and sing along as if you wrote the song and you are speaking to someone who really needs to hear those lyrics.

It doesn’t matter if you are singing alone or with others. Either way, it’s truly an experience. It’s important to ensure that you are getting the most out this experience. Have you felt the difference of when you are singing sans microphone and when you are fully equipped? When you get that microphone in your hand, it’s a complete change. Some find it thrilling and others find it terrifying. Which type of person are you? You have power when you hold the microphone and you have the opportunity to be heard! When someone starts to talk about microphones and singing, it’s common to only think of Karaoke. Karaoke is a fun and interesting spectacle, but sadly it takes the entire spotlight and prevents people from realizing that they don’t need to be in front of a group on a night out to sing their favorite songs with a microphone.

I strongly recommend truly giving your music experience a chance. It’s time to upgrade from just nodding along and letting the songs wash over you. It’s time to engage with them and sing along with the power of a microphone!

Once you’ve made the decision to truly give your music a chance. You need to start considering what equipment will be best for you. Do you want something heavy duty with all the gadgets or simple and lightweight? Do you want something with a long cord to twirl around or do you need the freedom to dance with a wireless microphone? We’ve recently been looking into some of the best USB microphone options on the market and they have really turned our heads. There are so many different options out there and I highly recommend going to take a look at them all, but just a small snapshot of some of the awesome products follow.

This model allows for even more portability and can hook up to your ipad for on the go fun! We do want to mention though, that it does have a very short cable, which may prevent you from moving around and really feeling the jams!

  1. The Messie Nessie

If you have been looking for a microphone with interesting features that doesn’t cost you an arm and leg, then this might just be the product for you. A cool stand and touch sensor mute button are only two of the enticing features on this product. It’s definitely worth looking into!

  1. Blue Snowball iCE
